APPLICATION-DRIVEN DESIGN

High-Reliability Harness Manufacturing Starts With Clear Requirements

Applications used in aircraft-support equipment, communication systems, sensing platforms, test equipment and other high-reliability electronics may involve tight packaging, weight limits, vibration, temperature change, EMI concerns and demanding documentation.

Cablum begins with the customer-approved drawing and specification. Our team reviews manufacturability, component compatibility, crimping and soldering requirements, routing, shielding, strain relief, identification, inspection and test coverage before production release.

Important scope note

Cablum is IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified. We do not claim AS9100D certification or ITAR registration. Project-specific aerospace standards, material requirements and approvals must be defined and accepted by the customer before manufacture.

ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS

Capabilities for Complex, Low-Volume Harness Projects

The final construction and verification plan are based on the supplied application requirements.

Weight & Space Review

Review conductor sizes, cable lengths, connector selection, routing and protection options where packaging or mass is constrained.

EMI & Shielding

Build shielded cable assemblies using customer-defined coverage, grounding, drain-wire and connector-termination requirements.

Material Selection

Match specified wire, insulation, sleeving, heat-shrink and connector materials to temperature and environmental requirements.

Mechanical Protection

Apply strain relief, bend control, abrasion protection, branch support and secure identification according to the drawing.

Inspection & Testing

Plan visual, dimensional, continuity, short-circuit and other customer-specified checks with recorded acceptance criteria.

Documentation & Traceability

Support controlled drawings, BOM revisions, lot identification, inspection records and agreed component documentation.

FAQ

High-Reliability Wire Harness FAQ

Share your drawing and requirements for a project-specific assessment.

No. Cablum is certified to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, but does not claim AS9100D certification. Customers should state all required quality-system and project approvals before requesting a quotation.

No. Do not send export-controlled, classified or restricted technical data. Contact us first with a non-controlled project summary so we can determine whether the opportunity is within our scope.

Yes. We can review drawings, BOM data, pinouts, samples and technical specifications for manufacturability. Production begins only after the configuration and acceptance requirements are agreed.

Typical checks may include visual and dimensional inspection, continuity and short-circuit testing. Additional electrical or mechanical tests can be evaluated when the methods, limits, equipment and reporting requirements are defined.

Prototype timing is confirmed after technical requirements, material availability, tooling needs and the required validation scope are reviewed.
