1. Document identity and revision

Include the assembly name, drawing number, revision, issue date and the responsible approval status. Add a concise revision history so the supplier can identify what changed.

2. Overall layout and reference points

Show the harness arrangement, main trunk, branches and defined measurement reference points. Indicate how dimensions are measured instead of leaving the start and end locations implicit.

3. Connectors and interface orientation

Assign each interface a unique reference and show the view or orientation used. Link each reference to the customer-approved component information in the BOM.

4. Circuit and connection definition

Provide the approved connection mapping or circuit information needed to interpret the assembly. Keep naming consistent between the drawing, wire list and related specification.

5. Wire and component references

Reference the applicable wire, terminal, connector, seal, sleeve, heat-shrink, label and other component items without relying on an uncontrolled description.

Show branch locations, bundle treatment, labels and any project-defined protection details. Identify which requirements are mandatory and which are open to review.

7. Inspection and electrical requirements

Reference the customer-approved acceptance requirements and define which checks apply to the project. Avoid a generic test list that is not tied to the assembly.

8. Quantity and project context

Provide prototype or production stage, expected quantity context and requested schedule separately from the technical drawing when appropriate. These inputs help frame the quotation without changing the design definition.
